The Beginning of a Random Short Story

This is the beginning of a short story I am writing. I wrote this beginning about a month ago, and upon reading it recently, disovered that it wasn't too bad. Since I haven't posted for a while, I thought I would share.

When I am done writing it, I am not going to try to publish it or anything, because I don't think I am experienced enough to try to give this effect (you'll see what I mean when you read it.) However, it is good practice for when I am older.

    Well, here it is...

I am reluctant to believe what has just happened to me, but the cold, stark facts convince me of the awful truth. My senses, overwhelmed from absorbing that heart-breaking moment, are now numb with shock, paralyzed in horror. A wave of sadness washes over me, forcing tears down my cheeks. It is hard to imagine that, only a minute ago, I was experiencing the greatest joy of my life. Is it possible that happiness, which now seems many miles distant, was really that recent?

The former glory of this day feels so unfamiliar, yet I can still recall the dream-like events of earlier

Keep in mind that I haven't edited this yet. I can definitely see some changes that could be made, especially in sentence length and structure.

What does this mean?

I found this on the door to the bonus room.

The Beast doesn't know when or why he wrote it.

   It says...

No tails. The rales. No throwing high. No fighting. No smoking. No denting walls.

He just informed me that "rales" was supposed to be "rules".

Nautical Shirt Decoration

So here it is! My first Stylish Saturday!

This is an example of just one of the many ways you can use excess jewelry to spice up a shirt.

If you look very closely at this picture, you will be able to see earrings attached to the shirt.

When our cousins from Illinois come here, they bring a ton of merchandise from Claire's for us and our other cousins.

Last time there were lots of lady bug and anchor earrings, so I took as many anchor ones as possible. I had something like this in mind, but didn't get to create it until I got this shirt as a hand-me down from some friends.

These are the ones most noticeable in the top picture.

I decorated the tops of the shoulders...

...and the bottoms of the sleeves.

I also stuck an earring into each side of the bottom of the shirt.

If you ever stick earrings into your clothes, make sure that you bend the posts with pliers and wear and undershirt underneath it, so that you don't get scratched.

By the way, this whole top did not cost my parents or me a cent!!!
